Who creates this site?
ColorRatioTool.org is created by Art and the City, an independent design education studio in Amsterdam. The site belongs to a small network of practical tools for designers, students, makers and creative teams.
What the tool does
The tool lets you assign dominant, secondary, accent, neutral and background colors; preview their proportions; and export the values as CSS or JSON. The suggested ratios are a planning framework, not a guarantee that a palette is accessible or suitable for every medium.
Our approach
We publish guidance that explains the reasoning behind a choice: color roles, visual hierarchy, contrast, interaction states and real-world testing. Tool output is not presented as automatically generated editorial expertise.
